Ferlito Group recently completed an approximately 8,000-square-foot interior transformation for Kresge Eye Institute in Southfield, Michigan. This project involved converting a former Comerica Bank suite into a modern medical office environment designed to support both patient care and clinical workflow.
The existing space included former teller stations and drive-through banking infrastructure. Our team fully demolished the interior and rebuilt the suite to meet the operational needs of a specialty healthcare provider.
The finished space now includes new patient rooms, updated work areas, and a comfortable staff break area, all designed to support daily efficiency while creating a welcoming experience for patients.
One of the standout features of the project is the updated lighting throughout the suite. The new LED lighting gives the space a clean, modern feel while maintaining a comfortable atmosphere that avoids the overly clinical look often associated with medical offices. Combined with the new flooring and interior finishes, the result is a professional healthcare environment that feels both functional and inviting.
Work is also currently underway on exterior improvements to remove the former drive-through lanes, which will further enhance the building’s accessibility and site layout. That portion of the project is expected to be completed later this spring.
Projects like this reflect the type of adaptive reuse and medical office construction work our team regularly supports across Southeast Michigan. You can learn more about our construction capabilities here: https://ferlitogroup.com/ferlito-construction/
